To widen our engagement, perspectives and collaboration by providing a safe and secure workplace for employees, customers and partners to be able to express themselves and their needs freely and openly, whilst feeling supported by CGL.

  • Embracing Abilities
Promoting and providing accessible and respectful options for those who interact with CGL that so that every person is given the opportunity to fulfil their role or requirement regardless of a disability or impediment.
  • Multi-Generational Pathways
Multi-generational workforces are critical to organsitional development and innovation, to the representation, understanding and communication of different consumer needs and to the critical thinking and problem solving required in contemporary workplaces.

  • Empowering with Flexibility
Workplace flexibility helps to attract and retain organisational talent, which in turn helps to drive and sustain productivity and business growth.

Safety

At CGL, we believe everyone has the right to get home safe. It’s why we’re committed to deliver a culture that prevents incidents and injuries to promote genuine care for the health, safety and wellbeing of our people, customers, communities and the environment.

We continue to drive our Safety 1st culture to enable healthy, safe, and environmentally responsible workplaces across all of our sites. We truly believe that working towards workplaces free of incidents and injuries is a shared responsibility, and together we can all make a positive difference.

Our CGL Safety system (DoneSafe) supports our Safety 1st expectations. The system provides anywhere, anytime, and multi-device access to incident, risk, and compliance functions for our people. This means CGL has one central platform for safety reporting, analytics, and insights, enabling us to better understand, manage and improve the health and safety of our people.

Building on from our commitment to a Safety 1st Culture and our aspiration for zero harm, CGL have partnered with ‘Safety Hub’, one of the world’s leading providers of workplace safety training. Safety Hub produces short engaging workplace safety training videos, helping us understand and manage hazrads and risks at our various workplaces.

‘Safety Hub’ has a number of key uses within CGL:

·         As part of our Induction Processes, to help on-board our new colleagues with a Safety-First mindset and training right from the start.

·         To provide training and or refresher training when we introduce new processes, equipment, procedures, or ways of working etc.

·         To provide useful content for toolbox meetings.

·         To support training and re-training that may be identified as part of incident management corrective actions, and

·         To support delivering consistent content on key safety topics to all CGL employees.

Health and Well-Being in Action

In 2023, CGL launched our annual 6-week ‘15 Minute Exercise Challenge’ to promote health and wellbeing. By offering the opportunity to join this challenge, we felt it was an easy and fun way to boost health and wellbeing and get into a habit of regular exercise.

In line with our Safety First culture, CGL  is proud to offer employees this exciting opportunity to be part of a CGL wide health and wellbeing challenge. I encourage you and your colleagues to join a team and help fulfill our commitment to invest into the health and wellbeing of our people.

How we hire

Our recruitment process can vary depending on the role you are applying for, but here is an overview of our process – including some handy tips and hints to guide your preparations.

We want your interview and application to stand out. Importantly, remember to be yourself.

  • Application Process
We pride ourselves in making sure candidates feel valued by making an application with us, whether you apply via on-line via places like Seek or Linked-In, or you are referred to us by a current employee or other CGL contact.

  • Phone Screening
In many of our recruitment processes, the first step will be to speak with someone from our  HR or business team via the telephone, to talk through your interest in the role, and your relevant skills and experiences.

  • Interview and Selection
If you are short-listed for a role, we will look forward to arranging to meet you. Whilst our preference would always be to do this in person, due to our many locations, sometimes this may need to be via MS Teams or again on the telephone. For several of our roles, we do include pre-employment assessments, which can include taking a short aptitude, personality, or skills-based test.

Don’t forgot, when you come along to an interview, it is not all about us asking you questions, we are very keen to understand and respond to any questions you might have. Don’t be shy!

  • Pre-Employment Checks
For all our hires, we do get candidates to complete a pre-employment declaration. This process also includes other relevant health/medical and background checks applicable to the role.

  • Making an Offer
Once all the pre-employment processes have been successfully completed, the next step would be to make you a formal offer. This will often involve a telephone call from the HR or business manager who has been involved in your recruitment, as well as a formal written employment contract. The HR team at CGL are always available to help with any questions you might have about this.

  • Welcome to the Team
Once you have accepted our offer, we will initiate your on-boarding. This will involve pre-boarding processes to be completed before your first day, and also sharing some more exciting and interesting information about our Company ands your new role.
